Parents of infants and toddlers do not always have the luxury of staying home as they did in years past. If anything, the two-income household is a busy place where parents and children are constantly rushing from point a to point b in an attempt to make ends meet and get everything done in a timely manner. This is where baby bottle coolers, sometimes called bottle cooling bags, enter the picture. These small bags allow parents on the go to keep their baby bottles cool and ready for drinking for longer durations.
If One was to ask why it is important to keep the baby bottle cool; the answer is simple: milk does not last forever, and keeping it cooler will help it last quantifiably longer. This applies to milk purchased at a local store, formula, and breast milk. The longer the milk bottles are kept cool, the longer the milk in them will remain safe to drink. Since mothers, fathers, and other caregivers are increasingly busy and thus further away from a refrigerator, baby bottle coolers let them go about their daily business without the added headache and/or aggravation associated with finding a place to refill a baby’s bottle. Keep in mind that babies on pre-pumped breast milk obviously cannot find a refill in the same way that those children drinking formula or milk purchased from a store can.
Now That the benefits of baby bottle coolers have been made explicit, it is fair for one to wonder just how do baby bottle coolers work. The answer is surprisingly simple: ice. Baby bottle coolers are typically waterproof bags that are generally made from synthetic materials, perhaps with multiple compartments that feature specialized chambers intended to hold ice. The outer layers act to keep as much of the cold temperature in and as much of the hot temperature out, but eventually, the ice will melt and need to be drained. How long it will take for the ice to melt and drain depends on a number of variables, but the chances are good that one can be extended their excursions by multiple hours even in the hottest weather.
Adding to their utility is the fact that most baby bottle coolers come with straps that allow them to be easily carried, worn over the shoulder, or attached to a stroller. Because baby bottle coolers are waterproof, they are also easy to wash. Almost all baby bottle coolers can be wiped clean with or without soap as the situation warrants. Many baby bottle coolers can also be laundered if one sees fit to do so. Last, but certainly not least, baby bottle coolers are fairly inexpensive. Small baby bottle coolers can be found for under $10, while larger variations can cost $25 or more depending on one’s tastes.
